Five people have been arrested after protestors stormed the stage of "Les Misérables" in London's West End.

During One Day More, the final song of the first half of the performance, activists from Just Stop Oil invaded the stage and locked themselves to the set, holding up banners and shouting to the audience.

In a video shared by Just Stop Oil, stage runners can be seen swiftly escorting the cast from the stage and the safety curtain was brought down. The actions of Just Stop Oil triggered boos from the audience.

William Village, chief executive of Delfont Mackintosh Theatres, said: "During the first half of our performance of Les Miserables, individuals from Just Stop Oil invaded the stage, abruptly stopping the show.

"Following our safety protocols, the audience were asked to leave the auditorium and the Met Police attended. Regrettably, there was insufficient time to enable us to complete the rest of the performance."

Five people were arrested following the disruption at the musical, which costs up to £200 per ticket.
