Sir Elton John has defended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they were slammed for their use of a private jet - as he claims he paid for the vehicle.
The royal couple faced mounting criticism for reportedly taking four private jet journeys in 11 days.
Blaming them for "harming" the environment, Labour MP Teresa Pearce and several environmentalists urged Harry and Meghan to live up to their reputation as "eco warriors" by considering their carbon footprint.
In a series of tweets, the 72-year-old 'Rocketman' hitmaker said it was his home in Nice, they were travelling to, and claimed he provided them with the jet, which he insisted was made carbon neutral.
Meanwhile, US talk show host Ellen has also leapt to the couple's defence, saying the pair are some of the "most down-to-earth and compassionate people" she's ever met.
