Just after the show yesterday, the UFC dropped the news that Fight Island, which sounds like a Netflix movie you’d watch after you’ve seen everything else, will be on Yas Island next month.  UFC president Dana White made the announcement, UFC 251 will happen over four days, July 11, 15, 18, and 25.  Fights include a welterweight title fight between champion Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns, plus two more title fights featuring a featherweight rematch between defending champ Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway and a fight for the vacant bantamweight title between Petr Yan and Jose Aldo.  There will be heavy restrictions around the event to keep everything safe, since we still will be in a pandemic.  “Everything will happen on the island. Nobody will leave the island. They’re going to have their own private training quarters where people can train themselves.  The people in Abu Dhabi do everything right,” White said.

Michael Jordan is out of retirement- competing in a big-time fishing tournament where his team pulled in a giant fish.   In case you were unaware, and I was, Michael is a competitive fisherman now, and often competes in this big fish tournaments, where the prize money is huge - first place for the one he’s currently participating in is $3.4 million.  His team just hauled in a 442 pound monster in the 62nd Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in MJ’s home state of North Carolina.  That’s only good enough for fifth place, but the tournament continues until the 13th, so he’s got time to catch The Big One.
