This video of teachers grabbing $1 bills has gone viral. 10 teachers in South Dakota were put in front of a crowd at a hockey game and given the opportunity to grab as many dollar bills as they could before it was all gone. $5,000 in singles were dumped on a big mat that sat on the ice as fans cheered. But the whole thing turned into a PR nightmare as the video went viral. People called it humiliating and dystopian, comparing the competition to Squid Game and Hunger Games. One parent from the school district said on Twitter, “teachers get paid less, get disrespected more by our leaders, but now they’re circus monkeys used for entertainment.”
