Serena Williams is fighting sexism at the US Open

We had been talking about the US Open lots over the past few days - mainly due to Nick Jonas & Priyanka Chopra attending on a date.

Now, Serena William's Women's Final match against Naomi Osaka brought the focus back to tennis with allegations of sexism still in the sport.

During the final match, Serena Williams was given a violation by umpire Carlos Ramos for illegal coaching during the first set. The Daily Mail reports that Serena responded “I don’t cheat to win, I’d rather lose. I’m just letting you know...”

Later Serena received a second point penalty from Ramos after throwing her racket to the floor after losing a game... Serena shouted at the umpire "You are the liar. When are you going to give me my apology? You owe me an apology. Say it. Say you’re sorry…And you stole a point from me. You’re a thief, too!”

Ramos then gave Serena another violation for the rant, which resulted in losing the game... She was, as you would expect, not happy.

"Because I'm a woman you're going to take this away from me. This is not right. Every single year that I play this is just not fair," she then started crying; "I've worked so hard to be in this position."

Serena was very supportive of her rival Osaka during the trophy ceremony by telling the crowd "Let’s make this the best moment we can. Let’s not boo anymore. We’re gonna get through this and we’re gonna be positive".
